Ronald Edward Smiley, PhD, is a self-employed freelance consultant specializing in strategic management and leadership development. He organizes and leads workshops aimed at enhancing leadership skills. An accomplished author, Dr. Smiley recently published his first book, titled Optimizing Your Gifts for Career Success: My Journey Leveraging Resilience, Mentorship, and Leadership Mien. His career in public service spanned nearly five decades, culminating in his retirement in 2020 after serving thirty years as a member of the Navy’s Senior Executive Service (SES). Dr. Smiley holds a Doctorate and Master of Arts in Management from the Claremont Graduate School. He received a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Howard University. He currently serves on the Ventura Board of Managers for the YMCA in California, along with active involvement with Association of Old Crows (AOC) Electronic Defense Organization, National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) organization, and the Senior Executive Association (SEA). He and his wife currently reside in Ventura, California.
